So me and my mom decided to join a gym recently and its been actually a lot of fun. However, another thing about me is that it's really hard to keep me interested in things or projects for a long period of time. I get bored, especially if it's something that I wont see results about quickly.
So this morning im on the elliptical machine and it's set for 20 minutes. So you know I'm doing my thing and suddenly I glance at the timer, (bad idea! I usually hide it with a towel but forgot to today haha), and I see I only have 2 more minutes left. So being me, I start to justify ditching those last 2 minutes. "I've been on it 18 minutes, I think it's ok if I get off now" and many other excuses. So just as I'm about to slow down and get off of the machine my ipod switches to....wait for it.....THE SPICE GIRLS! hahahha Now I don't care how old you are, how "cool" you think you are or how corny you think they are, if you're a girl who grew up in the 90's you can't help but love the spice girls!
So of course when I heard the song "Wannabe" I just couldnt stop moving haha and it actually made me want to finish the last 2 minutes just to hear the song and move with it :]
So today I am soooo thankful for my ipod. Not for music, because trust me music will come up as what I'm thankful for MANY MANY times through out the year. But today just my ipod as a single object is what I'm thankful for. Because wether it's at the gym, during a long break at school, or just whenever there is no radio around, your ipod is ready to go.....Good lookin out Steve Jobs! :]
Now I don't want to focus on the material aspect of my life, however I do want to focus on the fact that I am able to have an ipod. Things that we take for granted because they're always around. We forget that for others these things, phones, ipods, cars, Wii, television set, etc...for others these things are not always around. Yet we constantly complain cause we dont have the ipad we only have a laptop...haha and you know it's true and I DO THAT ALL THE TIME! So thats why today I want to aknowledge that I am truly thankful to have my ipod and I understand that I am lucky to have many of the material things that I have even if they are not the newest or coolest things. You have to be thankful for what you have.
Challenge: So of course I want you to think about the things you take for granted because you've always had them, or you know they will always be there. But this blog is about taking it one day at a time and focusing on one thing at a time as well. So after you think of how lucky you are to have all that you have, I want you to only think of you ipod. How many times a day do you use it, and think of not being able to use at the gym, or school, or where ever you use. If you don't have an ipod, dont you dare feel sorry for yourself! haha This is to focus on what you DO have and not feel bad for what you dont have. Think of something else then like your phone. Be thankful for what you are able to have and try not to complain because it's not the new model...

something i take for granted are my parents.. i totally know and understand where you come from when you talked about your mom... and a lot of us do take them for granted.. everything they do for you...
